Equilibria

Michele Perlini presents “Equilibria,” an installation created in collaboration with Euro Design and the new brand KIHOM. A unique and playful work that, through a subtle gesture, opens up a space for reflection. Entirely crafted from certified fir wood, it embodies a concrete act of respect for nature — a theme that continues to inspire architect Perlini’s design research year after year. The installation draws inspiration from the classic game of Shangai. Among the wooden sticks, only the red one stands out: resting on a mirrored cylinder, it becomes the visual and symbolic focal point of the work — the precise point of balance. A delicate yet powerful sign that reflects a deeper exploration: the inner balance, fragile and precious, that each of us — consciously or not — is constantly seeking to achieve. In the project, the mirrored cylinder is not merely a physical support, but a conceptual element: it reflects the red stick, amplifying its meaning, and returns the image of the observer, directly engaging the viewer in a continuous dialogue with the artwork. In Equilibria, balance is not imposed — it emerges from the relationship between matter and reflection, between action and awareness, between the artwork and the observer. A silent invitation to perceive the subtle boundary between stability and suspension.
